It is a rare occasion when a DJ duo can come from different backgrounds and musical influences, yet be able to combine their various characteristics into a seamless and expressive musical journey. Northern California’s Acid Boyz (Jeff Mcdermot and Lawson Terrell) does just that. Hailing from two different cultures and upbringings, a chance encounter turned into a magnetic connection that the two describe as a “connective energy that could not be explained nor controlled.” The two wasted little time in getting acquainted and quickly set out to create a signature sound blending a wide range of influences and musical preferences. The result—a consistent yet tastefully surprising danceable grooves and mixes that cross genres with ease.
Since their inception, Acid Boyz garnered a growing fan base both at home and abroad. Their popularity led to many notable bookings around the Bay Area, and cemented them as integral members of the resident DJ team at the Kazbah Burning Man camp. Today, Acid Boyz can be found spreading their sound across the Black Rock City desert, international festivals such as BPM, and numerous shows stateside, all while simultaneously working on producing their first E.P. set to be released in the coming months.
